Ashley from Nufarm, a Bradford based company, contacted us to design a short, entertaining city tour for a group of agricultural chemicals sales people who were visiting from their Barcelona Offices. After a full day of meetings, our Exploring York guide met the group at the hotel they were staying in to commence the tour, which presented the visitors with light-hearted tales as they ambled around a selection of York’s most famed sights. To end their tour, the group were escorted to the acclaimed Blue Bicycle Restaurant, situated at the heart of York’s foodie quarter, Fossagte.

A local company approached Exploring York to provide a group of new employees with a tour of the city, focusing particularly on York’s main influences from abroad and the significance of the River Ouse on which their office building perches. From their offices above, employees view the famous waterway, now bustling with pleasure cruise boats. Yet 1200 years ago, their view would have been very different… A two hour tour beginning on Ouse bridge delighted an intrepid group from the company with terrible tales of York’s bloody past. The view from their offices will never be the same!

Show me York’s best bits, in detail.

At the start of this tailor made tour, Brad and his family who were visiting from Philadelphia weren’t exactly sure what they wanted to see other than York’s ‘best bits’ at their own pace, including stops for lunch and coffees along the way. During the tour it became clear the family had a keen interest in the city’s royal connections. Our guide expertly shifted the focus of the tour from the usual city sights to stops at specific areas which are linked to stories of the monarchy in York. Their tour ended with a visit to the King’s Manor and a chance to see where Henry VIII urinated, which delighted ten year old Matthew!
